Moms Sugar Cookies

Preheat oven to 375° F.

In large bowl, cream the sugar and oleo. Add milk, eggs and vanilla. Mix well until mixture is fluffy.

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and cream of tartar. Add dry ingredients to creamed ingredients in large bowl.

Roll the dough into balls the size of walnuts and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press each dough ball with the bottom of a drinking glass that has been dipped in sugar. Bake for 10 minutes.

After cookies have cooled, frost with vanilla cake frosting and add any sprinkles or colored sugar.

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup oleo
  • 1 cup Hiland Dairy Whole Milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
