Hiland 80th Anniversary

Hiland Says "Cheers" to 80 Years

The dairy business was a lot different when Hiland Dairy began in Springfield, Missouri, in 1938. Back then, we had a small herd of cows and a couple of trucks delivering farm-fresh milk to local grocers. Today, thanks to our customers, Hiland is well-known throughout the Midwest for our fresh, delicious dairy products. But the heart of our business remains right here in the Springfield area.

Traditions That Span Generations

Although Hiland Dairy Foods was founded 80 years ago, some of our dairies go back even further — to the days just after the Civil War, when milk was delivered by horse-drawn carts and stored in wooden chests cooled by ice cut from nearby rivers and lakes.

Today, our milk is shipped and stored using state-of-the art technology, but our commitment to producing the absolute freshest, best-tasting dairy products possible remains the same as it did back then.

For much of our history, our production facilities operated under a variety of different names, each bringing its own unique history. And though their names may be gone, their legacy of quality lives on in every drop of farm-fresh Hiland Dairy milk.
