Ingredients
4.6 ounce (large) package non-instant vanilla pudding mix
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 1/2 cups Hiland Egg Nog
8 ounce tub whipped cream
9 inch pie shell (baked)
Preparation
In medium saucepan, combine pudding mix, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and egg nog.
Mix well, cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat. Transfer mixture to large bowl, cover and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
Remove chilled pudding from refrigerator and beat until smooth. Add whipped cream and mix thoroughly. Spoon into baked pie shell, sprinkle lightly with ground nutmeg, refrigerate until set or approximately 4 hours.
Notes:
Optional, two teaspoons of rum or rum flavoring may be added when beating chilled pudding.
