The Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) notified our supplier of chocolate-covered peanuts, that the peanuts they had received have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella. These peanuts have been used in select ice-cream products by Hiland Dairy Foods. Hiland Dairy Foods switched to a different peanut supplier on January 31, 2009, and any lots not listed above are not under recall. Hiland Dairy Foods uses dedicated production lines and has a long history of making safe and delicious products. We will work closely with the FDA in their ongoing investigation of the potentially contaminated peanuts.

Hiland Dairy Foods is notifying our direct customers by phone and/or in writing of the recalled products that contain PCA’s peanuts. Consumers with recalled products may either discard them or return them to the store of purchase for a refund.

Consumers with questions may contact Hiland Dairy Foods at 1-800-492-4022 in Missouri or 1-800-641-4022 outside Missouri. Consumers may also visit the FDA website at www.fda.gov for an updated list of products being recalled because of this problem.
