(Springfield, MO – March 29, 2007) The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) announced the winners of the 2007 Achieving Excellence Awards at its SmartMarketing Conference in Las Vegas on March 15. The awards honor the dairy industry’s top marketing, public relations and advertising efforts. This year’s competition, co-sponsored by Dairy Field magazine, featured a record-breaking 238 entries ranging from best new product to best school marketing campaign.

“This year’s marketing efforts have truly demonstrated that the dairy industry is growing and acquiring a significant competitive position in the food and beverage category,” says IDFA Vice President of Marketing Tom Nagle.

Hiland Dairy was a winner in the category of Best School Marketing Piece for combination dairy products. Hiland developed a school marketing program called Hiland Halftime that raises the awareness of the importance of dairy in teen’s diets. The Interactive program brings dairy education to schools during the halftime of sports events. The introduction of “Hiland Halftime” coincided with the dairy’s introduction of a new contemporary look to its packaging, one that reflects the homegrown goodness of the full line of dairy offerings.
