Hiland Dairy: Tyler, Texas
This plant primarily serves Southern Texas. The Tyler, Texas milk plant processes and produces approximately 1.4 million gallons of milk each month. The Tyler operation includes two other plants, one that bottles water and another that makes delicious ice cream made with fresh Hiland milk and cream.
Hiland purchased the three plants in 2017 from the Brookshire Grocery Company. The dairy plant was founded in 1927 by the Kidd Family. In the 1950s, it became Cabell’s Dairy and then part of the Southland Corporation. The Brookshire Grocery Company purchased the plant in 1990.

Supporting Our Community
Hiland Dairy employees are active in the community. We stay involved by volunteering and participating in various community activities. We also support the community through in-kind donations that support hunger relief. In addition, we partner with our customers on events, and numerous charity runs like the Brookshires Fresh 15 and Hero’s Run. Our chocolate milk is the perfect recovery drink for athletes and marathoners.
We support the United Way of Smith County and are a proud sponsor of the East Texas Fair Agriculture, where children can learn where milk comes from. In addition, we assisted the Tyler Parks and Recreation to Keep Tyler Beautiful, alongside Brookshire Grocery Co. and private donors, to renovate Hillside Park in Tyler, Texas.
